Applications were due on Monday, April 8, 2024. Award decisions and notifications will be made in July 2024.

About the Fund

As the largest affinity fund in the nation dedicated to Latine philanthropy, Nuestro Futuro (“Our Future”) has been making tangible impact for nearly 20 years. Since its founding in 2003, it has awarded $3.1 million in grantmaking dollars to more than 70 nonprofits throughout the Chicago region.

Nuestro Futuro is made up of a volunteer steering committee led by two co-chairs. The committee is in charge of leading our yearly grantmaking and fundraising efforts. Annual member dues are allocated to our endowment for future grantmaking. 

Our Impact

Through our grantmaking program, we address the evolving needs of the Latine community and support Latine-led community organizations that often do not get funding from mainstream philanthropies.

The Future for Our Community

Our grantmaking priorities are focused on early childhood education and immigration, key issue areas within the Latine community. Nuestro Futuro also cultivates leadership opportunities for up-and-coming donors and civic leaders. 

In the spring of 2022, when the COVID-19 pandemic hit the region, we pivoted our resources to provide more than $400,000 in responsive grantmaking dollars to address the disproportionate health and economic effects of the pandemic on the Latine community and the organizations that serve them.
