Asian Giving Circle Awards $305,000 in its Year 2 and 3 AACDF Grantmaking Cycle

Asian Giving Circle, an initiative of The Chicago Community Trust, mobilizes the collective power of AAPI community members, allies, and supporters to strengthen AAPI communities in the Chicago region. Since its founding in 2002, AGC has distributed over $1.7 million to more than 60 organizations supporting AAPI communities in the Chicago region.

In 2023, AGC established the Asian American Community Development Fund (AACDF), which supplements core grantmaking by providing larger grants to fund innovative and collaborative projects that promote community engagement, intergenerational dialogue, allyship across other marginalized communities, and economic empowerment. AGC committed three years of funding to support community building opportunities and projects across the region.

In 2024 and 2025, AGC provided two years of funding, totaling $305,000, to the following seven organizations’ projects:

• Chinese American Service League, in partnership with South Asian American Policy & Research Institute
• Chinese Mutual Aid Association, in partnership with Indo-American Center and Apna Ghar
• Filipino American Council of Greater Chicago
• Heart Women and Girls Project
• KAN-WIN
• SpaceShift Collective
• Vietnamese Association of Illinois

The Trust is a community foundation that is dedicated to ensuring opportunity and prosperity are within reach for everyone in our region. As a charitable community, we know that many of our communities have been historically under-resourced, including by philanthropy. Asian Giving Circle is a group of donors who seek opportunities to address those historic gaps, which will help strengthen the entire Chicago region. When our neighbors do better, we all do better.
