In April, the Trust was honored to take part in the first-ever We Day Illinois. We Day is an all-star event that empowers a generation of young global citizens and kicks off a year-long educational initiative called We Act, which provides curricular resources, campaigns and materials to help students take both global and local action to make a difference in their community and beyond.
Throughout the day, we were inspired by not only the talks taking place on the stage, but also by our conversations in the exhibition hall with teens from across the region, who shared how they make a difference. These young people know #whatyoudomatters! I was completely blown away with all the ways that they are changing the world. Check out one of the images we created with the help of Ink Factory:
Miss out on We Day this year? Set your DVRs to next Friday, August 21 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. CDT for a special presentation on ABC7.
Tomorrow (Saturday), community members on the South Side will come together for the 53rd Englewood Back-to-School Parade, focusing on the importance of education and getting kids excited about returning to classes.
