Where We Are Now

How many of you participated in the ALS “Ice Bucket Challenge” last summer? You’ll recall that our social media feeds were jam-packed with videos and photos of our friends dumping buckets full of ice water over their heads, donating money to ALS and encouraging their friends to do the same. It’s the kind of viral campaign that every organization hopes to inspire.

Given the prominence of this campaign, this article from the Huffington Post that takes a look at the impact of the “Ice Bucket Challenge” one year later is really interesting, leading into the second year of the challenge launching next month.

  • Congratulations to the Chicago Bulls for being named ESPN’s Sports Humanitarian Team of the Year this week! The award honors the team for its work during the 2014-2015 season to organized over 100 community events focused on youth education, youth health and wellness, violence prevention and the military and impacted the lives of more than 30,000 people.
