How many of you participated in the ALS “Ice Bucket Challenge” last summer? You’ll recall that our social media feeds were jam-packed with videos and photos of our friends dumping buckets full of ice water over their heads, donating money to ALS and encouraging their friends to do the same. It’s the kind of viral campaign that every organization hopes to inspire.
Congratulations to the Chicago Bulls for being named ESPN’s Sports Humanitarian Team of the Year this week! The award honors the team for its work during the 2014-2015 season to organized over 100 community events focused on youth education, youth health and wellness, violence prevention and the military and impacted the lives of more than 30,000 people.
Administrative team members from Frankfort School District 157-C participated in the iCan Bike program last week, which uses a fleet of adapted bicycles, a specialized instructional program and a trained staff to teach individuals with disabilities how to ride a bike. (via The Herald-News)
