Hurricane Florence: 10 Community Foundation Relief Funds You Can Support

Where We Are Now

Days after Hurricane Florence reached land, its effects are continuing across the southeastern United States.

Record rainfalls have reached 36 inches in some areas; with dangerous flooding not expected to peak until later this week, the death toll continues to rise. 10,000 North Carolina residents are currently taking refuge in emergency shelters, while hundreds of thousands remain without power.

If you would like to donate to support those affected by Florence and its continuing devastation, several community foundations in the path of the storm have established funds to provide relief:

Community foundations are created by residents to support their geographic community, whether that’s a city, a region or an entire state. Because of their local focus, they are deeply rooted in place—staffed by local residents, fluent in the most urgent local challenges, connected to the nonprofit organizations available and ready to serve those needs.
