“I do want to make films that entertain people—but I also want people to be in the know.”
In the last video of this partnership series, Free Spirit Media turns the camera on one of its own.

Danielshé Rodgers has been involved with filmmaking since her senior year of high school, when her media class—led by Free Spirit Media—taught her how to use a camera, edit video and other media skills. Now Rodgers works with Free Spirit PRO, the social enterprise arm of Free Spirit Media, which offers a real-world professional experience for young adults while providing high-quality video production for paying clients.
Rodgers’ work has led her from a cross-cultural Peace Exchange in South Africa, to a more intimate portrait of Nia & Kim, a mother and daughter dealing with homelessness. While she hopes that people enjoy her work, she ultimately wants viewers to feel empathy—to see themselves in the stories and think about how they can make a difference.
