Torrence Moore is an entrepreneur and finance professional with over 25 years of experience consisting of commercial banking, private equity, consulting, alternative investing, and economic and community development at several multinational financial institutions.
Moore currently serves as Head of Access to Capital and Supplier Development for U.S. Bank. In this role he focused on leveraging the bank’s lines of business to increase access to capital focused on closing the wealth gap through investments in emerging entities, capacity building program, place-based initiatives, and supplier development programs. His team’s work has helped contribute to over $3 Billion in capital to developers, Community Development Financial Institutions (“CDFI”) and private equity funds. Previously he was Senior Director of Community Development at Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC”) where he managed the Yield Chicago, LISC’s capacity building program for emerging developers of color interested in commercial development. Moore also worked with LISC’s community partners to develop capital stacks and financing for catalytic real estate projects coming out of LISC Quality of Life Plans. Prior to joining LISC, Moore was the Managing Director of Lending for IFF, a Midwest regional CDFI. He spent two decades at several large multinational banks, JP Morgan Chase and Bank of America where he gained invaluable experience in commercial banking, venture capital investing, business and real estate lending. At JP Morgan Chase and Bank of America, he led the banks’ community development equity investing where he built portfolios of equity investments in small businesses, private equity funds, real estate and affordable housing funds.
On the entrepreneurial front, Moore has been involved in multiple start-up businesses. He is founder and partner of TMA Consulting, which focuses on assisting nonprofits, entrepreneurs and small businesses in the areas of project finance, technical assistance and program administration. Additionally, he served as one of the founding managing directors of Kiwanja Capital Partners, an emerging private equity firm focused on the acquisition, remediation and redevelopment of brownfield properties in the Midwest and California.
Moore has served on the board of a number of civic organizations including LINK Unlimited Scholars, the Delta Institute, Edward G Irvin Foundation, Morgan Park Academy and Diamond Kut Charities. He also serves on the Board of Governors of the Metropolitan Club of Chicago and ECM Performance Materials. Moore obtained a Bachelors in Economics from Hamilton College and a Masters of Urban Planning & Policy at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Moore is married and has two daughters.
