Michelle Greanias is a senior director of grants administration at The Chicago Community Trust.
Michelle brings more than two decades of experience in grants management, nonprofit operations, and equitable philanthropy. In this role, she leads the team responsible for executing the full lifecycle of the Trust’s discretionary, designated and donor advised grantmaking while overseeing grants policies and procedures, ensuring compliance and operational efficiency, and partnering across departments to continuously strengthen the Trust’s grantmaking practice.
Prior to joining the Trust in 2026, Michelle most recently served as Program Director of the Reimagining Nursing Initiative at the American Nurses Foundation where she built and managed a $15 million national grantmaking program supporting nurse-led innovations in education and workforce development. She also served for eleven years as Executive Director of PEAK Grantmaking, a national membership association dedicated to advancing effective and equitable grantmaking practices.
Earlier in her career, Michelle spent a decade at the Fannie Mae Foundation, where she directed a $45 million annual grants portfolio focused on affordable housing and community development.
