If you are planning to mail a check by the end of the year, please note that the U.S. Postal Service has updated its rules, and machine postmarks will now be applied when mail is processed at regional processing centers (not at the local drop off point). Meghan Lewit is the director of philanthropic communications at The Chicago Community Trust.
Lewit works to advance the Trust’s efforts to strengthen the Chicago region and elevate the organization’s priorities and opportunities to donors and stakeholders.
Prior to joining the Trust, Lewit led marketing and communications at Upwardly Global, a national nonprofit that supports immigrants and refugees in rebuilding professional careers in the U.S. She also previously worked as a writer/editor at the University of Southern California, and started her career as a reporter for The Press-Enterprise Newspaper in Southern California.
Lewit was born and raised in the Chicago suburbs. She earned a bachelor of science in journalism from Boston University, and a master’s degree in professional writing from the University of Southern California.
