Kim Grimshaw Bolton is director of communications for The Chicago Community Trust.
She works closely with the Executive Office and Community Impact team to advance the Trust’s strategic focus on closing the racial and ethnic wealth gap, as well as elevate the impact of grant recipients and community partners.
Prior to joining the Trust, Bolton was associate director of communications for civic engagement at the University of Chicago, where she promoted the University’s community-facing programs and initiatives. For several years she worked at the Metropolitan Planning Council, where she oversaw the full suite of media and marketing communications activities.
Bolton was born and raised on Chicago’s South Side. She earned her bachelor of science in broadcast journalism from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and began her career at CNN.
