José A. Rico is the executive director for Truth, Racial Healing and Transformation Greater Chicago (TRHT).
TRHT is a comprehensive, national and community-based process to “unearth” and jettison the deeply held, and often unconscious, beliefs created by racism”. The mission of TRHT is to proliferate healing and equity within individuals, neighborhoods, and communities to change the race narrative to fuel transformation, erase the belief in racial hierarchy, and drive towards racial equity.
Rico has over 30 years of experience in start-ups, strategic planning, external relations, systems-change, resource development, public policy, and advocacy in education and philanthropy.
Rico graduated from Whitney M. Young High School, Northeastern Illinois University, the University of Illinois, and National Louis University.
