An equitable economic
recovery benefits everyone.

It’s time for equitable
economic growth

Chicago’s growth and economic outlook has lagged since the Great Recession, and the economic divide between white communities and communities of color further deepened during the pandemic. We Rise Together is focusing significant investments on long-disinvested Black and Latinx communities whose success will strengthen the entire Chicago region.

Building thriving Black and Latinx neighborhoods for a stronger Chicago

We Rise Together: For an Equitable and Just Recovery is a funders collaborative working with community members to address the urgent economic needs of Chicago’s Black and Latinx neighborhoods. Our three intersecting goals are:

  • spurring development in disinvested neighborhoods,
  • increasing quality, resilient employment, and
  • strengthening Black and Latinx-owned businesses.
