Donor Engagement Opportunities

The Trust invites donors to support our strategic initiatives to increase economic mobility for Chicago households and communities that have faced systemic barriers to building wealth and well-being.

Below are some opportunities to engage with our work.

Unity FundA collaborative effort that gathers contributions from generous donors to support nonprofit organizations addressing the Chicago region’s most urgent needs. Please contact Jerome’ Holston at jholston@cct.org for more information about supporting this work. You can contribute to Unity Fund on the Trust’s website.
Transfer Innovation Impact Model (TIIM)A new initiative that focuses on supporting Chicago-area community college students in bachelor’s degree completion. TIIM creates opportunities for institutions to partner with a community college and a support organization to develop innovative new models that will make transfers more accessible to students who traditionally have had lower rates of college completion. Please contact the Trust’s Chief Philanthropy Officer Sheila Cawley at scawley@cct.org or 312-565-4172 for more information.
Neighborhood Capital FundA two-year funder collaborative to get late-stage capital into community led brick and mortar projects. This initiative helps neighborhoods build the amenities and services they need that lead to thriving communities. You can make a contribution to the fund on the Trust’s website.
Press Forward ChicagoA local initiative working to strengthen and sustain independent news in the region. By funding community-focused outlets and supporting collaboration, it aims to close coverage gaps and ensure all residents have access to trusted, diverse information. You can make a contribution to Press Forward Chicago on the Trust’s website.
Resilient Chicago FundA new initiative led by a partnership of leading Chicago-area philanthropic organizations that aims to reimagine the delivery of basic human services in our region. The fund will invest in plans to reimagine and preserve essential elements of the region’s social safety net — for example, creative solutions that enable residents to meet new SNAP and Medicaid work requirements to maintain benefits. This is a time-limited effort, focused on impact for our most vulnerable neighbors. Please contact the Trust’s Chief Philanthropy Officer Sheila Cawley at scawley@cct.org or 312-565-4172 for more information.
