Gretchen Wolf is the general counsel for The Chicago Community Trust.
In this role, she serves as the principal legal advisor to the Trust, acts as Corporate Secretary to the Trust’s governing board, and supports the Trustees’ Committee.
Before joining the Trust, she was a partner at the law firm of Skadden Arps, where she represented large corporations, boards, and executives in complex matters. During her more than 20-year tenure at the firm, Gretchen served as co-chair of the firm’s global women’s initiatives committee, was a member of the Chicago DEI committee and Skadden Fellowship Foundation advisory selection committee, and acted as a partner advisor to the LGBTQ+ affinity network.
As pro bono counsel, she has assisted many families and children involved in trauma-informed immigration cases in finding relief. Gretchen currently serves on the board of directors for the National Immigrant Justice Center and the Iowa Law School Foundation, and she has previously served on the boards of the Chicago Foundation for Women and the Chicago Appleseed Fund for Justice.
Gretchen has a bachelor’s degree in political science and a minor in music from Drake University, as well as a juris doctor from the University of Iowa College of Law.
