Devon C. Nelson is the senior director of development operations at The Chicago Community Trust.
In this role, Devon ensures that the systems and procedures related to servicing our donors are optimized for success. She works collaboratively to maximize the functionality of our philanthropic services efforts with donors in mind.
Devon has more than 20 years of experience as a fundraising leader in the arts and culture sector, including roles at the Museum of Science and Industry and The Field Museum. She has experience in institutional giving, annual funds, individual giving, major gifts, volunteer management, strategic leadership, and goal setting.
Originally from the Virginia suburbs of Washington, D.C., she transplanted to Chicago in 2001. Devon holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia in English.
