Latino Union seeks general support for our efforts to organize immigrant day laborers and domestic workers. For twenty years, we have been gradually increasing our ability to serve one of Chicago’s most vulnerable labor communities. With the rise of anti-labor movements across several levels of government, entrenched nativist structures, and increasing anti-immigrant rhetoric in both the public and private sectors, our communities face more challenges than ever before.

This request helps us increase our organizational &staff capacity to expand our campaigns &ASE’s presence in the public arena. Our campaigns have grown, &we are working to increase our organizational and staff capacity to further support leader-identified priorities. This grant will support increased capacity by supporting: * Citywide organizer on equitable development (FTE), * Youth organizer (FTE) to help with outreach/recruitment &social media presence, &mentor them to develop the next generation of community leaders/organizers. This would support moving one of our part-times youth organizers to full-time. * Dedicated organizer to work with Germano Millgate tenants &anti-violence campaign (FTE). Currently, the Executive Director (ED) works with tenants part-time.
