TaskForce for Prevention and Community Services

The TaskForce Prevention and Community Services (TaskForce), founded in 1990, is a multi-service, grass-roots agency committed to improving the health of African-American men and women and their families on the West and South sides of Chicago. Founded and managed by African-Americans, the agency has earned the respect of the people it serves and has become a valuable community resource. The TaskForce is committed to retaining its local roots and strives to hire staff, recruit board members and volunteers that represent their service community. Eighty-eight percent of the current Board of Directors is African American. A primary focus of the agencys activities are dedicated to reducing HIV and STI cases among African-Americans and linking individuals living with HIV to care and treatment programs.
