Coalition of African, Arab, Asian, European and Latino Immigrants of Illinois
The Coalition of African Arab Asian European and Latino Immigrants of Illinois (CAAAELII) is a collaborative of immigrant and refugee community-based organizations that cut across racial ethnic and cultural communities. In 1998 CAAAELII was formed in response to the devastating effects of Immigration and Welfare Reform Act on low-income immigrant communities. Leaders from African Asian and Latino communities crossed traditional barriers and formed CAAAELII to collectively address shared issues impacting their communities. CAAAELII now has 34 ethnic communities who share the mission. The voice for the voiceless represents 16 ethnic immigrant communities in 11 neighborhoods in Chicago and villages throughout the Chicago land area.CAAAELII's programs provide support to community based organizations to be able to offer needed services for immigrants and refugees.
