The Austin Green Team will continue serving youth in August and the Labor Day weekend holiday. We have met with the youth we serve and they would like to continue with the Austin Green Team after One Summer Chicago ends. The youth participated in an art installation in Rosie's Peace In The Valley Garden, that will be revealed on August 5. We look to build a labyrinth next. We also look to collaborate with the Chicago West Side Chamber of Commerce which is hosting PlayStreet Activations during the month of August. These activations are being hosted to help youth stay active and to help them and their peers stay engaged. We are also hosting these youth engagements to help keep the youth safe.

Remix Project's Open Mic & Studio Drop-ins take place Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings from 6pm-9pm at Zhou B Art Center. With the additional funding, Remix will be able to expand Monday, Wednesday & Friday evenings' programming from 6pm-9pm throughout the month of August to assist in providing coverage during the gap. Safe space, mentorships and healthy networks are at the core of this effort. Youth and young adults will be invited to share their life experiences via music, spoken word and live performance. Premise being when young people have more options they make better decisions. Remix believes engaging at-risk youth through the summer months during peak times for violence creates a sense of belonging outside traditional neighborhood networks and helps guide young peoples' attention & decision making through the week with something positive forthcoming. In addition, participants will have access to a commercial grade recording studio and engineer on site for skills training, recording, mixing & mastering.

Grants funds will be used to amplify our current programming and expand it to young people not traditionally afforded this opportunity. As we expand the game of chess throughout Chicago, we would love for every member of our club to own chess sets, chess clocks, chess notation, and tactical training books so they can share their love of the game with family members and those in their communities. We also want to be able to pay for our stormers United States Chess Federation Membership fees, as well as tournament registration fees. Additionally, ASAC looks forward to growing our workforce development program where we will train high school teens to be mentors and paid coaches for our K-8 students.
