We plan to start up of all star game for our top performers for our LTD league. Also plan to provide those kids with book bags and shoes and apparel. We plan to have least 100 youth to come out and participate with games and activities for the families also.

Back-To-School Theme: "Oh The Places You'll Go!" We have made exciting plans to provide GAP programming for youth (Aug 6th-21st) and Labor Day weekend. Our target GAP will serve youth (ages 5-10) in Chicago's Englewood and Auburn-Gresham neighborhood.

We are requesting money to continue our caddy program, which provides juniors ages 13-18 employment opportunities working at golf courses. The juniors earn a stipend from the organization for each caddy assignment; and additional funds from golfers that utilize their service.

Earth's Remedies
Earth’s Remedies’ August activation is a series of events allowing Westside youth to connect with health & wellness opportunities, paid data advocacy opportunities, and other developmental resources within their neighborhood. The events will consist of rock climbing with 10- 15 youth, youth researchers engaging with the community at resource fairs, and community art and healing fair open to the public. The funds will be used to support the youth researchers, field experts, art activations, free resources, refreshments, and travel expenses at the following events: August 6th: Elevate w/ Earth’s Remedies (Monthly - Rock Climbing w/ Youth) August 19th: Youth Leaders - Development w/o Displacement Resource Event w/ NHS August 20th: The Culture of Healing Fair (Back 2 School – Annual Resource Fair)

700 N Christiana Avenue Block Club
On Labor Day weekend, Saturday, 9/2 and Sunday, 9/3, with the help of our Junior Block Club Ambassadors (JBCA), who are ten youth, ages 10-18, that live between our two blocks-600 & 700 N. Christiana Avenue-, we would like to purchase and install block club signs on our four corners -two blocks with 3 intersections-, build a retaining wall circle with landscape concrete blocks around the base of each sign that will also serve as planters, plant flowers, and host for all of our neighbors a small resource fair with community based organizations, and serve food and refreshments. We will give our JBCA's a $50 gift card stipend for their 2 day participation and a polo with their logo. We will close down one of our streets to allow for resource tables and traffic-free play space for children and families. We anticipate engaging with 20-80 community residents.

Englewood First Responders
Englewood First Responders is proposing an extension to current summer programming for the purposes of this application. Englewood First Responders will continue to provide weekly recreational and positive engagement activities through August 21 and during Labor Day weekend. Activities will change week to week, taking place every Sunday from 9 to 12 PM. Activities will include painting, arts and crafts, and gardening. Englewood First Responders will also host a Peace Day over Labor Day weekend on Sunday, September 3rd. Peace Day will be a neighborhood event to encourage and promote anti-violence. We will also utilize this event to share important community resources for victims of violence, promote additional violence prevention programming, and provide positive engagement with the community. EFR will provide snacks, drinks, face painting, and a special Peace Day activity. This activity will provide different shaped paper where youth and their families can express what peace means to them. This art will be shared on all EFR social media platforms and our website to promote community harmony. To conduct program activities, Englewood First Responders has employed a Program Manager to oversee activities, ensure ongoing progress, and supervise volunteers. Five volunteers will coordinate activities and supervise program participants. If awarded, funds will be utilized to purchase program supplies such as paint, brushes, construction paper, glue, clay, foam, scissors, markers, string, etc.

Nehemiah Trinity Rising
The funding received under this application will allow us to further enhance the summer experience of youth and emerging adults with whom we engage throughout the year in restorative justice and community activities. It leverages the relationships established between several churches and youth organizations that engage youth in intergenerational activities throughout the year. We will use the funds to provide the following activities that will utilize the relationship building, creativity and learnings of the young people previously engaged and additional ones in the following activities: Participation in an interactive play with post-play spoken word activities and journaling; A community rally which allows all the intergenerational parties from each neighborhood to come together at once, enjoy each other and plan for the coming year.

The James-Gail Foundation, Inc. will use the funds given to extend our To Be A Kid: The Experience program where we engage kids from the south and west sides of Chicago in conversation and provide them with fun activities. We currently have 22 families registered for our program. With the additional funds, we will be able to add more dates and allow for children to engage in more activities during the August 6th through the 21st gap as well as Labor Day weekend. We will be able to add more activities during the weekday and weekend. Our goal with this program is to give youth living in neighborhoods plagued by gun violence something to believe in by providing them with fun experiences. A kid’s job is to simply be a kid and these funds help us provide safe spaces for them to do just that.
