Protecting & Advancing Equitable Homeownership: Lawndale Christian Development Corporation

Lawndale Christian Development Corporation (LCDC) organizes with the community to eliminate health and wealth disparities in North Lawndale and worldwide. LCDC’s work is done by developing and managing affordable mixed-use housing, providing homeownership for working families, and creating cooperative businesses in pursuit of economic development.

LCDC addresses affordable homeownership needs in North Lawndale by providing new construction, modular housing, rehabilitation services for owners, and homeownership counseling to ensure Black working families can access safe and affordable financing. They also manage hundreds of units of affordable rental housing with an eye on helping renters to become homeowners someday.
