Episcopal Charities and Community Services

Episcopal Charities and Community Services (ECCS) was founded in 1960 to coordinate fundraising activities in the Episcopal Diocese of Chicago on behalf of twelve social welfare organizations related to the Episcopal church but carrying our non-sectarian purposes. Today, ECCS continues to raise funds for its partner agencies but, in addition, our work has expanded to help those agencies develop stronger boards and become more effective in their own fundraising. ECCS recently launched its own initiatives, including leadership in a joint endeavor with other faith-based entities that resulted in nearly 100 new, affordable homes being built in Chicago's north Lawndale neighborhood (completed in 2006).
