Named for the man who served as the Trust’s executive director for 24 years, the James Brown IV Award of Excellence for Outstanding Community Service is meant to recognize – and to inspire.
As a nexus in Chicago’s community, the Trust is in a unique position to see – and publicize – the truly outstanding philanthropic work that happens in our area. To that end, the Trust established the James Brown IV Award to recognize one organization each year that exemplifies the professionalism, dedication and creativity that define so much of our region’s charitable work. The award includes a $50,000 unrestricted grant.
The James Brown IV Award is currently on hiatus while its application criteria and process are retooled. The selection process will begin again in 2007. A list of past winners can be found here.
