The Trust’s MOD program focuses assistance on small- or medium-sized not-for-profits (operating budgets of $5 million or less) that need to respond to specific management and operational needs. Primarily, the MOD program puts an emphasis on an organization’s:
- Capacity Building
- Management
- Organization and Strategic Planning
- Personnel Development
- Technical Needs
In some instances, the Trust will also grant MOD funds so that not-for-profit personnel may attend meetings or training opportunities that will have a significant impact on the organization and its management. Such applications will require additional, specific documentation.
Please note that MOD grants are not available through the Arts and Culture program. Arts organizations seeking support for the above activities may apply for funding through the Arts Work Fund.
MOD grant recipients will be required to submit a final report about the grant’s use.
MOD grants will not exceed $10,000, and organizations are encouraged to seek other, additional funding sources when applying for MOD grants.
- Annual Events
- Emergency Grants
- Overdue Bills, Payroll or General Operating Expenses
- Routine Training Sessions, Meetings and Conferences
- Staff Awards
MOD grant applications are available after discussing the proposed project with a member of the Trust’s program staff. To begin this process, please contact the Trust at 312.616.8000 or grants@cct.org.
In addition, MOD grant applications may be initiated by a Trust program officer who is currently working with an organization already receiving Trust funding – or one is considered for funding.
MOD grant recipients will be notified of their award within six to eight weeks after submitting an application and the actual award will be made within two weeks after the signed grant record is received by the Trust.
MOD grants are considered and made throughout the fiscal year from a limited and specific annual allocation of funds.
