John R. Conrad, chairman emeritus of S&C Electric Company, created the S&C Foundation in 1999.
In 2005, its grants of more than $400,000 benefited 63 not-for-profit organizations in metropolitan Chicago. These organizations provide a range of services from basic human needs to education and culture.
Recipients of our most recent grants include the Chicago Historical Society, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, High Ridge YMCA, St. Francis Hospital of Evanston and the United Way of Metropolitan Chicago.
