Giving
Latinos have lived in and contributed to Chicago since the late 19th Century. During their 100 year history in northeast Illinois, Latinos have maintained a sense of family, cultural pride and commitment to supporting their local communities.
Nuestro Futuro brings Latinos together to develop permanent philanthropic resources to ensure that the institutions committed to advancing the Latino community thrive into the future.
Whether starting a new legacy of individual giving or carrying on the work of an established charity, Latino donors who seek to address concerns in our communities can find in Nuestro Futuro both the giving opportunities they seek and the expertise they need to ensure that their contributions will have the greatest impact.
Donors can participate in three types of Nuestro Futuro funds:
- The Latino Heritage Endowment Fund – Donors pool their resources, and Latino civic and business leaders serve as advisors to the fund.
- The Latino Giving Circle – Individuals pool their resources to support Latino not-for-profit organizations; at the same time, they form a social network of people with similar interests and values while they learn about philanthropy as a vehicle for social change.
- Individual Funds – Families, groups and individuals establish individual funds and other tax efficient charitable giving vehicles.
