Chicago High School Redesign Initiative

In cooperation with the Chicago Public Schools, the Chicago High School Redesign Initiative kicked off in 2001 in an effort to create and sustain a variety of high-quality, autonomous new small high schools throughout Chicago’s neighborhoods.

The Initiative’s goals focus on three areas:

  • Improving students’ academic achievement.
  • Increasing graduation rates.
  • Preparing students for many post-secondary education opportunities.
