The Trust’s Education program is dedicated to enhancing the achievement of Chicago’s students by supporting the ongoing development of high performing schools with a focus on developing strong curricula, instruction and school leadership.
From 2008 to 2013, the Education program will fund work in the following areas:
- Develop high performing CPS elementary schools in all neighborhoods by strengthening curriculum and instruction in key content areas: Literacy, Math/Science, Arts, Multilingual Learning, and Social Studies
- Strengthen and develop leadership in Education
- Sustain and strengthen innovation
- Projects beyond CPS elementary schools: CPS pre-school or high school projects that demonstrate strong curricular links to elementary level curriculum
- Projects beyond Chicago Public Schools: Support of private schools or suburban districts serving large numbers of minority or low-income students and/or which face similar issues as CPS
