Building Audience Demand For the Arts

The Arts Engagement Exchange is a collaborative project among the Trust, The Wallace Foundation and the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs. This learning network was established to foster arts engagement in Chicago. Through its learning opportunities, arts and culture organizations explore research, strategies, and tactics to increase audience demand for the arts.

Roundtables

Grantees selected for the Arts Engagement Exchange meet at least four times per year to gain additional expertise related to their marketing and research projects.


Open Forums

The Arts Engagement Exchange hosts a series of forums at which all arts and culture organizations can explore topics of relevance through keynote speeches and panel discussions.

Learning Circles

Through the Arts Engagement Exchange, experts in the field present to small groups, in an interactive format. Marketing staff and senior leadership from arts organizations with budgets under $1 million are eligible to participate.


Grant Process

Implementation Grants help cultural organizations move their ideas from Learning Circles into practice. Groups that have completed a Learning Circle and have a budget of less than $1 million may apply.
