Founded in 1997, TimeLine Theatre Company has built a reputation for artistic excellence by bringing history to life on stage. Through 11 seasons, we have produced 35 plays, including 5 World Premieres and 9 Chicago Premieres. We have been praised as a "fast-rising Chicago company" by The New York Times and "a must-see company" by the Chicago Sun-Times, and we have received 36 Joseph Jefferson Citations, including 6 awards for Outstanding Production in the last 7 years.

TimeLine presents stories inspired by history that connect with today's social and political issues. Our collaborative artistic team produces provocative theatre that engages, educates, entertains and enlightens.

TimeLine presents an annual subscription series of 4 fully mounted productions. We produce plays and musicals that include new works, Chicago premieres, as well as classics. Each production runs for approximately 7-9 weeks, and we welcome 12,000 audience members to our home in Chicago's East Lake View neighborhood.
