History:
The House is a company devoted to original work. From our Chicago-based ensemble, we?ve created works with superheroes, cowboys and ninjas ? all with simple stories that audiences could relate to on a primal level. In our seven-year history, The House has been honored with more than 40 Jeff Award nominations, and has seen critically acclaim in the Chicago Tribune and Chicago Sun-Times as well as the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Variety and on National Public Radio?s Weekend Edition. The House was the inaugural recipient of the Broadway In Chicago Emerging Theatre Award in 2007.

It is the mission of The House to unite Chicago in the spirit of Community through amazing feats of Storytelling.
Current Program:
The House produces three original plays per year, with between 3-10 plays in development from our ensemble of 28 artistic members.
