History:
The Englewook Food Network is a non-profit organization, established in 2001 and consists of twenty seven soup kitchens and food pantries, serving the Englewood and West Englewood communities. In partnership with the Greater Chicago Food Depository, the Network is striving to provide community anti-hunger feeding and food distribution services to hungry families, the elderly, and the homeless through its program, Feeding Options and Opportunity Delivery (FOOD). The (FOOD) program pick-ups food from the Greater Chicago Food Depository and distributes the food to our partner agencies weekly. The network serves an estimate of 30,000 individuals collectively monthly and we deliver over 3,000,000 pounds of food per year.

Mission Statement:
The Englewood Food Network exemplifies a commitment to investing in people by taking a lead role in developing our neighborhood through our mission to end hunger in Englewood. We are striving to improve the quality of life in our community through education and self sustaining programs.

Current Program:
The (FOOD) program pick-ups and distributes food to the pantries and soup kitchens within the network weekly. The network serves an estimate of 30,000 individuals each month. The Network also provide several initiatives to other life sustaining programs such as the following: Beautiful Zion Food Pantry, The Share Food Program, The Breast and Cervical Cancer Advocate Program, The Substance Abuse Program, Juvenile Justice and Child Protection Program, The Illinois DHS: Front Door Program, The Chicago DHS Emergency Food Box Program, The Chicago Public School Service Learning Program, The ID and Link Card Advocate Program and The Menu Program. All of our programs are free and open to the community. We are in the process of taking these programs to each partner agency.
