Shining a Light on Good Causes All Around Us

Believing that the nonprofit world in Chicago is vast and fascinating, David Manilow has partnered with The Chicago Community Trust to co-produce a new magazine series, Cause & Effect. The new show focuses on the world of philanthropy, fundraising and the nonprofit arena in our region. Cause & Effect will showcase and celebrate local nonprofits in a diverse and entertaining way. Tune in to help us promote philanthropy, engage new audiences in helping our region and raise visibility of nonprofits doing good.

Cause & Effect Pilot

The Cause & Effect pilot episode aired November 21 on WTTW Channel 11. The half-hour premiere took viewers behind the scenes at Galapalooza, introduced them to Interfaith Youth Core and motivated them with a morning with The CARA Program, shown here in action.

About the Producer

David Manilow

Cause & Effect is a co-production of David Manilow and The Chicago Community Trust.

David Manilow is the creator and executive producer of Check, Please!, the seven-time Emmy Award-winning program in Chicago, San Francisco, Miami and Kansas City. He began his career at SportsVision (now Comcast SportsNet), moved on to produce news and sports at WLS-TV, became president and partner at Orbis Broadcast Group, formed Semaphore Media and later created Check, Please! for WTTW Channel 11. David is a lifelong Chicagoan.
