The African American Legacy made grants in the past for organizational development. Since 2009, its grant making focus has been strengthening and supporting African American families. AAL views the family as the cornerstone of the African American community. Its goal is to identify, support and nurture dynamic organizations that exhibit high potential and have developed promising ideas, solutions or strategies that address the growing needs of families. Through investment in organizations that support families, AAL seeks to strengthen the African American community, both today and into the future.
